welcome
Hayley Corkery is a Clinical My0therapist (BHSc). Myotherapy focuses on treating injuries, muscular aches/pains and postural imbalances. When muscles and tendons become damaged, impaired, tense or immobile, the body responds with stiffness, aches and pains. Myotherapy provides a gentle healing treatment using a variety of strokes and pressure to relieve and rebalance the body.
clinical myotherapy
Myotherapy is the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. It is a form of physical therapy that can be applied in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of therapy to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia). Myotherapy will not only address the site of the pain but also treat the causes, be it bio-mechanical, postural or stress related.
Soft tissue therapy
Soft tissue (including myotherapy) is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their well-being or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
trigger point therapy
Trigger Point Therapy is for almost everyone. Muscles with active trigger points are always weaker than normal muscles and unable to move through their full range of motion. Often because they are unable to perform their normal function, other muscles are recruited to perform the activity of the compromised muscle. These secondary muscles can go on to develop trigger points themselves if the original muscle is not treated.

“Hayley is a great massage therapist. She knows the body and muscle patterns in detail and is always able to suggest a good stretch or two to use after the session to keep the results going.
